Organisation Approval Assessments
MAOS Audit Approval Process Overview
This following defines the processes which Aviation Compliance follows when exercising its tasks and responsibilities regarding UK MAOS Approvals.
The Initial Approval Process
The Military Regulator (MAA) will provide formal acceptance of an application and instruct Aviation Compliance to conduct the first review of the maintenance organisation exposition. On completion of this stage Aviation Compliance will plan and conduct the onsite audit of your organisation.
Aviation Compliance's nominated Audit Team Leader shall complete the following actions to investigate the organisation's compliance with the Defence Standard.
These activities are segmented into 7 Phases.
Phase 1 - Initial receipt of application
Phase 2 - Exposition Assessment
Phase 3 - Audit planning
Phase 4 - The Audit Assessment
Phase 5 - Management Staff Competence Assessment
Phase 6 - Audit Report and findings
Phase 7 - Closure of findings
Throughout all of these phases Aviation Compliance will maintain contact with the relevant parties, both applicant and MAA to ensure clarity with respect to interpretation, conflicts, expectations and timescales for approval.
Based upon satisfactory assessment of the organisation, the associated management post holders, the Company Exposition and resolution of audit findings, Aviation Compliance will formally recommend approval of the organisation to MAA.
The Final Issue of Approval
On receipt of the recommendation from Aviation Compliance Ltd, MAA shall formally indicate in writing its acceptance of the nominated management post holders, Approval of the Company Exposition and issue the organisation with an Approval Certificate indicating the scope and extend of the approval granted.
